Hippogoddess Rat Rescue

We are a small  in-home rat rescue in Northern IL right on the WI border. We also have a small network of transporters available. We mostly take in rats but we have and will take in other small animals on a case by case bases.We work with the animals, get them vet care if needed, provide them with large cages, toys, soft hammocks, good food and lots of love. I have had pet rats for many years and started doing rescue because I saw a need for it in my area. All of the animals that come into rescue stay with me until they find an approved home. Do you need to rehome your rat or small animal?

 We will do our best to help you with that. Please just contact me with as much information as possible about your pet and why you must find them a new home. There is a surrender form that you will have to sign to release your pet to us so we can find them a new home. Also we do not buy animals.Some animals that we do take in are rats, dwarf hamsters, sugar gliders, chinchillas,and hedgehogs feel free to contact me about other types of small animals it just depends on if I have room.We are not able to take in wildlife.

I can help you with that just check out the links page I have listed some wonderful rat resources.While I'm not a vetianary I have gained a lot of information over the years so if you don't see the answer to your question feel free to ask if I don't know I will find someone who does.

Are you ready to adopt?

I can usually help you with that also. You will need to fill out a questionaire, this is not to judge you it is to make sure we find the best home possible for our fur babies. I don't require you to know everything just be willing to learn.
